5 Keys to Selecting Corporate Entertainment
After performing at hundreds of corporate events in NYC and around the world, I’ve met event planners who exude confidence and others who question their decisions up until the last moment. I get it. Planning a major corporate event takes intense planning and can be stressful.
The right entertainment for the company event can turn that day into the most fun and memorable event of the year. On the other hand, the wrong entertainment can make the event the most discussed event of the year for all the wrong reasons. Here are 5 keys to selecting corporate entertainment so you can have certainty that everyone there will be thrilled and impressed with your event.
1. Experience
Choosing event entertainers with experience is a must! This may seem obvious, but verifying their experience is less self-evident. You’ll know your corporate event entertainer is experienced because they have many quotes from recognizable names, top shelf brands as clients, and should be recognized in their industry.
2. Communication
Working with the event entertainment before the event is always an important part of the process. You want to work with someone who will get back to your emails quickly, answers the phone when needed and is easy to work with. I’m always surprised to hear stories of other entertainers who don’t take this part of the job seriously. Whether I’m flying to an event across the country or performing at an event that night, you’ll always hear back from me quickly.
3. Exciting & Memorable
What’s the point of planning the event if it’s not going to be incredible? Choosing entertainment for your corporate event that creates waves energy and excitement will elevate your event and make it an experience people will be talking about for weeks and months later. The participation in my show of members of the group is always one of the most talked about parts of the experience.
4. Customization
I’ve found that with customization of entertainment, a little can go a long way. Whether it’s a client or internal facing event, a fun acknowledgement of the company name is a fantastic way to tie the evening back to the group gathered together. When requested, I love the smile and surprise that comes across the faces of the audience when they see how their company has been tied into the performance.
5. The Video
The best way to choose your event entertainment is by video. The footage is a great look at what you can expect from the performance, the different options the entertainer has, and how professional they are. You should be able to tell by watching the video all of the other 5 keys in corporate event entertainment- experience, communication, memorabilty, and customization.
